humble beginnings

Earlier this year, I invested in myself by applying for a women’s creative leadership program led by Majo Molfino (author of Break the Good Girl Myth). When I read her book in Fall 2020, I realized I was not alone when it came to clinging on to “good-girl” self-sabotaging myths. I HAD to take it a step further and allow myself to get out of my comfort zone and further explore my creative purpose through her 8 week program, IGNITE.

When I started the program I had every intention to utilize the tools we learned to expand my virtual accounting/business consulting firm. As we worked through the first week of lessons to explore our ideas to work on, I quickly realized that this initial intention was coming from the “good girl” within me and making sure I chose a path that felt safe and logical. Majo reveals in her book that as “good girls” we tend to gravitate towards choosing logic over our intuition when it comes to making a decision. Well, hello there - I’m Sally and what I do for a living requires logic all day long - especially when dealing with other businesses financials (double especially when men make up the majority of the business owners I work with).

I felt a strong tug in my chest, asking me to take a step back and allow myself to be vulnerable - to just BE. I deserve more than my self-sabotaging habits. I had to pivot after a week into the program and identified the creative passion I have been too scared to admit to anyone, even myself. Deep down we know and feel when we need to allow ourselves to be guided by our intuition - and this was the perfect opportunity.

So, here I am. Officially launching Saavi Productions. I’m 30, and I am JUST getting started! I almost gave up on this several times throughout IGNITE - I’ll share more about my challenges in later posts. I learned so much about the resistance that creeps up when I step out of my comfort zone - and I am still learning how to work through it. Join me as I step into unknown territory. I encourage you to listen to your intuition and take action on it! We can fail together, win together, but most importantly, evolve together.

I am sharing my journey with you. From the scrappy, humble beginnings.

Saavi
